Ingredients

Baileys Irish Coffee

Whipped Cream

  • 100 ml of cream
  • 2 teaspoons of Baileys Irish Cream

Instructions

Whipped Cream

  1. Use a whisk or electric beater to whip the cream until almost soft peaks but not quite (semi whipped). Then, add your Baileys and stir it through the cream.

Baileys Irish Coffee

  1. Heat a glass mug in the microwave for about 30-40 seconds, just to get it nice and warm.
  2. Add the brown sugar to the glass, then add the coffee, filling the mug a bit more than 3 qaurters of the way up. Stir the coffee until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. From there, add your whiskey, Baileys and vanilla extract if you have it and stir through.

  4. Slowly spoon or pour the semi whipped cream on top until the mug is filled right to the top.

  5. Lightly dust some cocoa powder on top if you want to garnish the drink and then serve straight away.

Recipe Notes

  • Whip the cream before you start making the coffee.
  • If you want to have a non alcoholic Irish coffee, remove the whiskey and the Baileys, make the coffee a bit stronger and add a bit more sugar.
  • Use a glass mug that is thick enough the withstand the heat.
  • Don't be afraid the personalise this recipe.
  • Adding some vanilla can create a wonderful aroma.
  • Heat the glass mug in the microwave so that the coffee doesn't end up cooling down too quickly once made.
  • When whipping the cream, don't make it too thick nor too thin (but too thick is better than too thin).
  • Jameson Irish Whiskey is a popular choice of whiskey for the Irish coffee.
  • Adding Judi's Irish Coffee Creamer to just a cup of coffee without the whiskey, Baileys, sugar or cream can be a wonderful way to make this a dairy free Irish coffee. Although if you want to make the creamer vegan, replace the honey in her recipe with sugar or golden syrup.
  • You can serve this Irish Stew Pie before or with this Baileys Irish coffee.
